Web news : Burton launches new Learn to Ride mircrosite

BURLINGTON, VT (December 12, 2013) With snow falling around the country, Burton Snowboards is excited to announce a completely new microsite on Burton.com that showcases the hundreds of programs and products Burton offers for learning to snowboard. Found at Burton.com/learntoride, the new Learn To Ride site now makes it easier than ever before to find the perfect program to get out riding.

“Teaching people how to snowboard is at the soul of Burton and it is without doubt the most gratifying thing I do in my job,” said Jake Burton, Founder & CEO of Burton Snowboards. “The sheer joy and enthusiasm that someone exudes when linking their first turns is contagious. Our new LTR microsite on Burton.com makes the process of learning to surf down a mountain that much more accessible to all. New programs are detailed for 3-6 year-olds (Riglet Parks) and for 7-12 year-olds (12 & Under). As a result of improvements in kids’ snowboard equipment and teaching techniques, there has been a significant spike in this youth demographic. We’ve also seen increased demand for women’s-specific programs, and we’ve responded.”

Freshly launched this month, the new user-friendly site offers a centralized Burton LTR Program Location Finder, complete with quick link directions to partner resorts and three top-level sections: Adult, Women and Kids. One big highlight is the Kids section. Geared towards parents with kids 12 and under, this new section features all the latest information on Burton’s LTR and Riglet Park programs, age-specific gear advice, an LTR Center Finder plus a Riglet Event Calendar that lists special upcoming events. Finally, the site includes in-depth information on resort programs like the Burton Snowboard Academy and The Stash, which share the overall LTR goals of getting more people out riding, progressing and having fun.

In closing, Jake says, “It is inspiring to check out future generations of snowboarders. Whether it’s watching a five-year-old get his\her first run in a Riglet Park, watching my kids shred the terrain park at our local mountain, or witnessing some of the best athletes in the world fight tooth and nail just to get to the Olympics - the future of our sport is in good hands. Snowboarding will forever be youth-driven.”
