Web and business news :ChannelAdvisor and eBay Motors Host Webinar to Discuss Fitment for Motorcycle Parts and Accessories Categories

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – August 17, 2012 – ChannelAdvisor, a global e-commerce software provider that helps retailers be seen and sell more across online channels, announced today that it will host a joint webinar with eBay Motors on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. EDT; 10:00 a.m. PDT to educate retailers on the benefits of parts compatibility for the motorcycle parts and accessories categories. Parts compatibility, also referred to as fitment, simplifies the listing process for powersports sellers and boosts consumer confidence by ensuring that items are well-suited for specific vehicles. Retailers using fitment have seen sales increase by more than 30 percent.

“Our goal with this webinar is to introduce motorcycle retailers to parts compatibility for motorcycle parts and accessories categories,” said eBay Motors Technical Account Manager Todd Ainsworth. “Powersports sellers can really benefit from using this program, saving time and money by reducing the number of listings that need to be created. Now, a single listing describing a part or accessory can be associated with multiple compatible motorcycles to help ensure shoppers that they are getting the exact part that they need.”
In addition to reducing listing volume, fitment produces better search results on eBay and search engines such as Google and Yahoo! by using the standardized vehicle information and the product title to match search queries. Buyers can now be more confident when making a part or accessories purchase since only the listings that match a specifics vehicles’ year, make and model are delivered in the search results.
“Clearly, this feature is a huge help to online automotive and powersports retailers, and ChannelAdvisor’s supports of fitment simplifies the listing process further,” said ChannelAdvisor Enterprise Sales Manager Curt McDowell. “ChannelAdvisor’s sophisticated software can automatically match to eBay’s catalog using universal product codes, manufacturer part numbers and other identifiers or supply manual fitment data in bulk to populate eBay’s compatibility. During this presentation, we will instruct eBay sellers on how to best take advantage of this capability.”
ChannelAdvisor Senior Solution Consultant David Monterroso will join McDowell and eBay Motor’s Ainsworth to offer a live demonstration of ChannelAdvisor’s support for eBay fitment during this webinar. Attendees will also learn:
  • The details of eBay’s fitment for the motorcycle category
  • Why fitment is critical to your success on eBay
